Discovery Education for California

Discovery Education is an integral resource in providing all students enhanced learning opportunities. Discovery's diverse and relevant multimedia resources paired with innovative ways students to dive deeper into their learning and share their learning with others plays an integral role in creating enhanced learning opportunities. The vast amount of resources in the library, engaging SOS strategies, studio boards, and video quizzes provides students the opportunity to receive a 21st century education.

Discovery Education provides all our stakeholders with compelling on-demand resources that provide real-world content meant to enhance all curricular areas. In addition, it promotes the effective use of the 5E Instructional Model as well as supports the STEAM competencies. Discovery Education provides a pathway to proficiency using engaging videos, student interest is magnified and furthers understanding; Pictures and images can extend learning through technology integration; and Virtual Field trips and interactives foster new experiences and career applications. This platform truly meets the needs of all our learners.

We are a virtual school and one of our goals is to provide personalized education for each student. Discovery Education allows me to tailor my assignments for each student. I can add or subtract lessons from my assignment. I can add in more resources for the struggling student or student who may speak English as a second language. Discovery Education provides captioning for videos which can assist many different learners. All of this serves to help me personalize learning.

In Discovery Education, educators can find relevant resources to support scholars in the various content areas to increase listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Discovery Education also builds upon re-imagining classroom for student agency and building skills to support a hybrid classroom with blended learning experiences.
